The roast of the Deacons was a great success.
With a live performance (a musical of sorts) based loosely on Dante's Purgatorio, the deacons were roundly (though charitably) ridiculed. I had the privilege of spending the majority of the show on stage watching the audience. Everyone laughed, none were offended, and all had a good time. We ended with a toast honoring the Deacons and a presentation of gifts from our class. I am glad to have played a part in making such a successful night possible. And I'm really glad its over.

Hearing the rave reviews from faculty, staff, priests and seminarians, I would say it really was a great success. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of so many--particularly our script writers, bloggers Tyler and Mike, though the contributions of Theo I & II in setup and cleanup was invaluable.
Having begun in prayer and ended in gratitude to God and the 4th year deacons for their vocations, events like these really make the words of Psalm 133 palpable in a community of faith:
Ecce quam bonum et quam iucundum habitare fratres in unum.
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down upon the beard, upon the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life for evermore.
