Pizza Italiana

Of course, going to St. Peter's and other magnificent churches is not the only thing we are doing in Rome - we do need sustenance. Italian food is, well, fantastic. It just makes logical sense that where Western civilization has its roots there is bound to be good food.

Tonight we opted for a night out. Although we haven't exactly been starving (our residence supplies very good food) it's always nice to get out now and again. In fact, our Rector has a line about our class and food. It goes something like "being ordained to eat." We have been having a good share of pasta, soups and other dishes, but tonight pizza was on our minds. As is the pasta, the pizza is delicious!

Here we are at a pizzaria. I had Caprese, which had mozzarella, a green vegetable and a spicy sausage.

Hmmm.... a mystery green vegetable. I can only come to one of three conclusions:

1. They do not serve enough vegetables at SPS.
2. This is an Italian delicacy.
3. This is a common vegetable one might find in the States, but was entirely unrecognizable under the swirl of sauce and olio one finds on a neapolitan pizza.

Without even providing any evidence or arguments, the answer is clear: You drank too much limoncello.
