Buon Giorno da Roma!
Today we visited the Major Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. Yes, that literally means outside the ancient walls of Rome. It is built on the traditional site of his tomb. Like St. Peter's, the main altar is located directly above the tomb. At both Basilicas there have been excavations into these tombs and as far as we can know the traditional account is accurate.
We were able to attend Mass there in the chapel of St. Stephen the deacon and martyr. Afterward, Fr. Cozzens gave us a tour and then a lesson on the missionary spirituality of St. Paul. Being that St. Paul is the patron of our seminary, today was a special day for us all.

That was by far my favorite church when I visited Rome. I'm glad you enjoyed it as a class!

You're not alone, there is at least one from our class whose favorite it is as well. It's pretty high on my list, but I don't think that I can name a favorite yet.
